This article is interesting I never thought about why most computer voices are female voices. well not all of them are female voices but the majority of them are. However according to this article a lot of I-phone users are wondering why siri's voice is female voice and the reason basically is that more people feel like a womans voice is more pleasant. This is the reason why most automated services use female voices. On the other hand in France and the UK siri is a male voice I wonder why? In the article it says that I-phone users ask siri what is she wearing and she responds why are you asking me this question. Thats really funny because clearly the majority of the people asking these questions are male. Yea but its an app on the android market called vlingo and its basically just like siri and of course it has a female voice.
I honestly never really noticed that most computer voices were female. This is a interesting topic to me only ,because people complain about everything. So what if it is a man's or a women's voice? Maybe there should be a settings option where you can choose a male or a female. I agree that women voices are more pleasant. Female voices also tend to have a more calmer nature and welcoming voice.
