What have I learn in this class etc...

I learn a lot about how people represent themselves on line in order to get reacting from others. I learn that long before technology was as advanced as it is now some people had already knew that technology was going to take jobs from people and that computers would be able to do the things that they do know and that anyone would be able to use a computer. My favorite thing about the class is that it is online and we get the opportunity to do weekly blogs. I also like the fact that you respond to our questions very quickly. My least favorite thing was that the extra credit had to be done at a certain time and not at anytime throughout the semester. The class can be improved by having shorter readings and more interesting readings. Some of the readings were easy for me to understand but some of them were kind of hard to understand.

  1. I agree with you that it is very interesting to think that people had thought about technologies that we have today before they were invented. And that they made very accurate guesses about how these technologies would be used. I agree some of the readings were a little more difficult to read than others however, the concepts in the articles were very interesting. Some of the readings were a little long and it would be nice to have a variation each week. Like maybe one long article accompanied by a shorter article. I agree with you that it was helpful that Professor Perez responded so quickly to emails which made this class easier to complete.

  2. I forgot about that article that mentioned that computers would eventually take jobs away from people. That article, being the least favorite of mine, was still visionary in a way.
I thought the reading lengths were appropriate. It was difficult to pinpoint what information would be on the tests that were given. There seemed to be no reasoning behind how the questions were chosen. I do agree with you though that some of the articles were "yawners". They were a bit to tech savvy for me. I'm sure that they were interesting to others though.
Best of luck to you and I wish you the best with all of your endeavors.

  3. One of the most interesting concepts in this class was what we learned about how people represent themselves on Facebook. I feel like this is one of the most relevant things for us to have learned in the new media world.

I also found some of the readings to be a bit difficult to get through, either because of length, complexity or a combination of the two. I really enjoyed the class being online and centering around our blog entries (instead of the online forum format of some other online classes I've taken). That way we can interact with our classmates on a more individual level instead of a threaded discussion that can be a little distracting at times.
